This machine was made right after production was moved from the good ole U`S`A to Japan (1968) and still has USA quality to it.
When you do your research you will see that Model 26 is considered one of the finest Marantz ever and is highly sought after. The sound quality is incredible, not only very sweet, but also very detailed, revealing layer after layer of music on original recording.

I use famous Sennheiser HD 600 for monitoring - all flaws and all beauty of music will be shown to you right away.
While Marantz Model Twenty Six can drive large 3-way speakers, due to its power limitations (designed for intimacy, not for blasting away your neighbours), it is best used with bookshelf speakers. It also makes for the finest headphones amp I've ever heard.
It comes exactly as pictured, in metal case.
